At the ceremonial award of the Berlin Science Prize, IB Hochschule's President Prof. Dr. Mariam Hartinger was also invited.

What does the prize stand for?

Laudation by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Markschies

"Linguistics has been one of the pearls of science for 300 years."

Prof. Alexiadou researches the language of thinking and how language shapes social cohesion. Using the example of the upcoming football EM, hybrid language formations made up of various languages were discussed, such as "gefightet".

The young talent prize went to Prof. Dr. Dr. Kerem Böge in the area of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy.

"People with refugee experience experience a sharpening of language," said Böge in his acceptance speech. His merits are the development and evaluation of a culturally sensitive psychotherapy, stigma research on psychotic disorders, and new treatment procedures with low-threshold access to the health system.
