In Berlin alone, the seat of IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales, around 10,000 refugees arrive at Berlin Central Station every day.
How much fruit do 10,000 people need after days of flight? How many of them have fallen silent and need psychosocial support, perhaps even speech and language therapy, to professionally treat the trauma-induced speech disorder known as mutism? In addition to specialist expertise from our study and research areas, such as Applied Psychology or Logopaedics, the university has for years been concerned with the needs of refugees in the context of the InterAct project together with international consortium partners. We can all support in various ways.
Despite the corona pandemic and difficult study conditions that have made social togetherness more difficult in the past two years, our solidarity is now needed. Think together about how you can support; talk to friends and neighbours. Every idea and activity, no matter how small, counts! We thank you warmly for this.
