Warm invitation to the online specialist conference in the Delta Netz Transfer project

The Delta Netz Transfer research project invites to the online specialist conference "Social-pedagogical accompaniment of literacy offers". Date: 05.06.2024 from 13:00 to 16:00. Where: Online. Organiser: IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales.

Dr. Veronika Thalhammer (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München) will speak on drop-out in literacy practice. Dr. Kristina Schmidt-Köhnlein (project AGiL – Literacy and Basic Education in Learning Houses of Berlin Community Colleges) will present social-pedagogical accompaniment in learning houses of community colleges.

In breakout sessions, results, experiences and insights into the practice of the Delta Netz Transfer project are given. Together we want to discuss chances and limits of social-pedagogical accompaniment of literacy offers and discuss how the establishment of social-pedagogical accompaniment and counselling of learners can succeed.

In Germany, about 6.2 million adults cannot adequately read and write. Among them are adults who can only read and write individual letters, individual words or short sentences. For about half of these people, German is their mother tongue. They grew up in Germany and went to school there, and yet they lack these competences. Those affected conceal their problems, as they were stigmatised for this in the past. Visiting a learning offer therefore represents a large hurdle. So only about one percent of those affected take advantage of a reading or writing offer.

For these people the "Delta-Netz Transfer" project was launched. The project staff work together to support and reach them. Registration by 28.05.2024 is requested.
