The new cohort of the Master Digital Health programme has successfully started at IB Hochschule. We are pleased to welcome the new students on the Health Campus at ukb in Berlin! The Digital Health Bachelor and Master programmes have been firmly in the programme of IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales since summer semester 2024.
The focus of the part-time programmes lies on the application of Digital Health and illuminates the latest state of digitalisation in medicine and healthcare.
The digital transformation offers enormous potential but also harbours major challenges: data protection and data security – personal data, including medical histories, diagnoses and treatment plans, must be protected from cyber-attacks and data abuse. Interoperability of systems – different systems for managing patient data, diagnostics and treatment are often not compatible. Acceptance and training – doctors, nursing staff and other actors in healthcare must accept and operate the new systems. Last but not least, research is needed to efficiently, safely and accessibly integrate innovative technologies into healthcare and thereby improve both patient care and the efficiency of systems.
After completing their studies, our students are able to use applications from the Digital Health area properly and evaluate them in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In direct connection to Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin (ukb), they are qualified to support patients diagnostically and therapeutically through new software and techniques, e.g. through methods in virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) or mixed reality (MR) technologies.
Our students experience the digitalisation of medicine from different perspectives and can thus develop Digital Health technologies in a patient-friendly way. We are pleased about the new students and wish them a good start and much success in their studies!
