New President and Vice-President of IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales elected

Prof. Dr. Mariam Hartinger was elected new President of IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales in Berlin last Monday. The Academic Senate of IB Hochschule elected Prof. Hartinger for a five-year term. As a long-time professor at IB Hochschule, Prof. Hartinger has already served as head of the Logopaedics programme, full professorial representative and Vice-President for Research, bringing extensive knowledge in these areas.
As new tasks and goals, the President sees further increasing IB Hochschule's visibility in studies, research and continuing education, as well as establishing new revenue streams. In addition, the establishment of an Institute for Digital Health is planned in order to bring research contracts in healthcare digitalisation to the university, and to develop the cooperation with Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin (ukb).
Prof. Dr. Axel Kowalski will assist her as new Vice-President starting 1 January 2022. Prof. Kowalski is a psychologist, head of the Master's programme in Psychology and has been teaching at the Cologne Study Centre since 2018, since 2020 as part of a 50% professorship. Together they will shape the future development of IB Hochschule.
On behalf of the university we warmly congratulate the new President and the new Vice-President and look forward to great cooperation.
Words of thanks go to HdWM and to the Board of Internationaler Bund (IB), the provider of IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales.
