On October 30, 2025, Prof. Dr. Mariam Hartinger, President of HIU, and Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas, President of Kocaeli University of Health and Technology (KOSTÜ), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Berlin. The agreement establishes a close academic partnership to promote exchange in teaching, research, and study programs. Özcan Mutlu, former member of the German Bundestag, also attended the ceremonial signing and emphasized the importance of international cooperation for education and science.
Following a warm reception, guests from Turkey received a comprehensive tour of HIU, including the new university building. Afterwards, they visited the campus through to the BG Klinikum Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin, where they toured the trauma room and helipad, among other facilities. The impressions underscored the close connection between academic teaching and practical healthcare that both institutions seek to strengthen together.
With this agreement, HIU and Kocaeli University send a strong signal for international collaboration, knowledge transfer, and the promotion of international exchange in health and social services.
