There is good news for private universities in Germany: according to a study by the German Economic Institute (IW), they have gained considerably in importance. The number of students at private universities has nearly tripled within the last ten years and now more than ten percent of all German students are enrolled at private universities.
Older students in particular are increasingly opting for studies at a private university. This is also reflected in our student body – especially in our part-time programmes. We attach great importance to making the studies compatible with family and work for our students, and we are proud to be their partner for lifelong learning.
According to the study, students perceive that private higher education better prepares them for the changing demands of the working world. They especially value the practice-oriented education. The good staff–student ratio and the close cooperation with institutions in health and social services open up exciting networking and research opportunities for students at IB Hochschule.
