Berlin's first district-wide Health Day in Marzahn-Hellersdorf brings together people, medicine, and prevention

With many visitors, numerous hands-on activities and prominent support, the first district-wide Health Day on the Health Campus at ukb in Berlin celebrated a successful debut. The event brought together institutions, companies, initiatives and people interested in healthcare, sending a strong signal for prevention, health education and networking in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district.
The organisers were especially pleased to welcome Kai Wegner, Governing Mayor of Berlin, District Mayor Nadja Zivkovic and District Councillor Gordon Lemm, who acted as patron of the Health Day.
At the heart of the day were the many personal encounters and conversations between visitors, health professionals, volunteers and educational institutions. The Health Day impressively demonstrated how strong the district's network already is — and what potential lies in new collaborations and joint projects.
The varied programme addressed all generations and combined information, prevention and participation. Visitors could take advantage of free health check-ups, attend workshops on mindfulness, breathing and mental health, or receive advice on topics such as nursing care, back health, arthritis and dental health.
Families and children also had plenty to enjoy: movement courses, a bouncy castle, face painting, and activities from the THW youth, the volunteer fire brigade and the German Red Cross conveyed health in a playful and practical way.
Another focus was on training, study and career paths in the healthcare sector. Numerous institutions provided information about professional perspectives in healthcare and gave interested visitors the opportunity to talk directly with experts. The Health Innovation University of Applied Sciences also presented its degree programmes in Digital Health, Health Education and Psychology and provided information about attractive career paths at the intersection of health, digitalisation and society.
The first Health Day in Marzahn-Hellersdorf was therefore not only a day of information and activities, but also an important impulse for healthcare provision and cooperation in the district.
A big thank you goes to all the companies, organisations, volunteers and contributors who made this day possible with such great commitment.
The successful debut makes one thing clear: the Health Day on the Health Campus at ukb Berlin e. V. should not remain a one-off event!
