Ceremonial opening of IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales on the Health Campus

On 26 March 2024 a significant milestone in the history of IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales was set. Together with a variety of guests as well as the new neighbours and partners, the opening of IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales on the Health Campus at ukb Berlin was celebrated in the venerable boiler house of Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin in a festive ceremony.

Under the direction of Karola Becker, board member of Internationaler Bund, the evening was designed. The musical accompaniment by the Tawabil Projekt, a trio combining oriental music traditions, jazz and flamenco, gave the event a special atmosphere.

Petra Merkel, President of Internationaler Bund, briefly explained the founding history and various stages of IB Hochschule. She particularly emphasised the uniqueness of the new location Health Campus at ukb.

Dr. Sabine Bergmann-Pohl, former Federal Minister and chair of the IB Hochschule Board of Trustees since 2009, reported on the constituent meeting of this body. Through this historical retrospect, the history and development of IB Hochschule was once again impressively made clear.

Dr. Daniel Dettling, Managing Director of Gesundheitsstadt Berlin, emphasised in his speech the relevance of networked work between the most diverse healthcare professions. With the Gesundheitscampus am ukb e.V., optimal framework conditions have been created to bring people together, train them in a needs-oriented way and open perspectives to them.

"We look forward to good neighbourliness, to exciting projects and to the goal of this association – exerting a joint radiance into the region – actually being achieved," said Prof. Dr. Mariam Hartinger, President of IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales. To a future full of cooperation and successful projects!

Heartfelt thanks to all guests and partners who participated in this special celebration. Among them were representatives of the Gesundheitscampus am ukb, Internationaler Bund, Smart Living & Health Center, Arona Klinik for Geriatric Medicine, Alice Salomon Hochschule, Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin, Heiligenfeld Klinik, the Eye Clinic Berlin-Marzahn and Gesundheitsstadt Berlin. A very special thank you also goes to all those who accompanied IB Hochschule during its 16-year journey and made this significant milestone possible.

The opening celebration of IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales on the Health Campus at ukb marks the beginning of a new era of cooperation and growth in the area of health sciences.
