Ceremonial Appointment: Dr. rer. medic. Sabine Arnold Named Professor of Applied Psychology

On May 15, 2025, Dr. rer. medic. Sabine Arnold was ceremonially appointed as Professor of Applied Psychology at HIU in Berlin. Prof. Arnold is a clinical psychologist and licensed child and adolescent psychotherapist bringing outstanding scientific expertise, extensive clinical experience, and a broad methodological repertoire to research and teaching.
She completed her Psychology studies at the Universities of Trier and Konstanz, complemented by an international research stay at the University of California, Davis. Her doctorate was completed at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, where she worked for many years in research and teaching. Her research focuses on eating disorders, non-suicidal self-injury, and suicidality in adolescence, with publications in leading journals that have shaped clinical practice.
Outside the university, she remains closely connected to her profession: in her psychotherapy practice in Berlin Friedenau, Prof. Dr. Arnold specializes in treating anorexia in adolescent girls and is a recognized expert in the field.
With her combination of scientific expertise, extensive clinical practice, and strong didactic skills, Prof. Dr. Sabine Arnold will enrich the Applied Psychology program – both professionally and personally. We are delighted about her appointment and warmly welcome her!
