Ceremonial appointment: Dr. rer. medic. Sabine Arnold appointed Professor of Applied Psychology

On 15.05.2025 the time had come: Ms Dr. rer. medic. Sabine Arnold was ceremonially appointed Professor of Applied Psychology at IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales in Berlin. Prof. Arnold is a doctorate-trained psychologist and licensed child and adolescent psychotherapist. She brings outstanding scientific expertise, long-standing clinical experience and a broad methodological repertoire to research and teaching.
She completed her psychology studies at the Universities of Trier and Konstanz, supplemented by an international research stay at the University of California, Davis, USA. She did her doctorate at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, where she was active for many years in research and teaching. The focal points of Prof. Arnold's scientific work lie on research into eating disorders, non-suicidal self-injurious behaviour and suicidality in adolescence. Her research papers have been published in renowned specialist journals and have helped shape psychotherapeutic practice. Outside the university she also remains closely connected to her profession: in her psychotherapeutic practice in Berlin Friedenau, Prof. Dr. Arnold is specialised in the treatment of anorexia in adolescent girls and is considered a recognised expert in this field.
With the combination of scientific expertise, long-standing psychotherapeutic practice and high didactic competence, Prof. Dr. Sabine Arnold will enrich the Applied Psychology programme – specialist and personally. We are very pleased about her appointment and warmly welcome her!
