From 11 to 12 March 2025 the Cluster Conference "Future of Care" took place at Campus Virchow-Klinikum (CVK) of Charité Universitätsmedizin in Berlin. Experts and specialist representatives came together to exchange on the latest developments of digitalisation and technologisation in care and health.
The innovation network "Cluster – Future of Care" is dedicated to the nationwide implementation of technological innovations and the development of competences for digital change. IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales was also represented with an info stand and the study advisory service.
The Cluster Conference 2025
Under the motto "Designing care future humanely – successful transfer and competence development", topics ranged from impulse talks through poster exhibitions and short-paper sessions to interactive World Cafés, future workshops and workshops. Especially enriching were the contributions of keynote speakers like Christine Vogler (President DPR), Sascha Saßen (consultant for care and social economy) and Olaf Meyer (commercial representative of the Danish embassy).
AI and competence development in care pedagogy
A highlight of the conference was the talk by Prof. Dr. Markus Dormann, Vice-President of IB Hochschule and expert on AI in teaching. In his contribution "Didactic modelling of AI for competence development in nursing/health education" he showed how generative AI can be sensibly integrated into teaching-learning processes.
"It is not enough to simply use large language models like ChatGPT. Anyone who wants to exhaust the full potential of generative AI in education must didactically model it! I am pleased to see that more and more actors from science and practice recognise how important targeted AI applications are in teaching-learning processes," emphasised Prof. Dormann.
Digital innovations for care practice
Alongside specialist discussions, the conference offered a platform for innovative products in care. Particularly impressive were various digital solutions presented.
Resumé: actively shaping the future
Securing care for people is one of the biggest challenges for our society. Several million people in Germany rely on care every day, and the number of people needing care will continue to rise. This brings new challenges to hospitals and rehabilitation facilities, inpatient and outpatient care institutions and home care. With IB Hochschule's programmes, we steer directly into the technological change and train people who, well-equipped, advance digital transformation. The Cluster Conference was a great pleasure and a valuable opportunity to make new contacts, discuss current developments and shape the future of care.
