IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales at DMEA 2025 – students shape the digital health future

DMEA 2025

Also in 2025 IB Hochschule was again represented at DMEA in Berlin – Europe's leading trade fair for digital healthcare. The focus this year was on the students of the Digital Health Bachelor and Master programmes, who were allowed to visit the event free of charge. They were given tasks by the lecturers to be worked on during the visit.

In the module "Digital Diagnostics and Human-Technology Interaction", the task was: find an innovative, digital application in the field of Digital Health, focusing on Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) – i.e. software-supported decision aids that support doctors in diagnosis or therapy planning. Students researched targeted solutions that they could analyse and discuss with exhibitors at DMEA.

Current digital innovations in healthcare were also on the programme, along with networking with industry representatives and documenting exciting trends and solutions for digital transformation in the health sector. The goal was to connect theoretical study content with current practice developments and gain impulses for one's own professional future.

"DMEA was worthwhile because we were able to get to know some future-oriented and promising products in connection with our question. We also gained insight into the work of start-ups – and not least the political side was illuminated. We thereby gained insights into why many processes are difficult and often lengthy." – Falko Klehm (Digital Health B.Sc.)

Participation at DMEA offered the students valuable insights into current developments and challenges of digital healthcare.
