Once again in 2025, HIU was represented at the DMEA in Berlin – Europe's leading trade fair for digital healthcare. This year's focus was on students from the Bachelor's and Master's programs in Digital Health, who were able to attend free of charge with specific research assignments from their lecturers.
In the "Digital Diagnostics and Human-Technology Interaction" module, the assignment was: find an innovative digital application in Digital Health, with a focus on Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) – software-based tools that support physicians in diagnosis and therapy planning. Students researched suitable solutions and discussed them in depth with exhibitors.
Additional objectives included exploring current digital innovations in healthcare, networking with industry representatives, and documenting trends for the digital transformation of the health sector.
"DMEA was worthwhile because we got to know some promising and forward-looking products related to our research question. We also gained insight into the work of startups – and the political side was highlighted as well. We gained understanding of why many processes are difficult and often lengthy." – Falko Klehm (Digital Health, B.Sc.)
The DMEA participation offered students valuable insights into current developments and challenges in digital healthcare.
