vr4content brought the latest VR technology to IB Hochschule yesterday and presented its software in a small demo. The entertaining feature was a sarcastic avatar you could interact with using a high-end VR headset.
The avatar, Elias Meyer, astonished those present with sharp remarks and remained stubbornly uncooperative, which was extremely entertaining. While most AI systems strive to provide correct and factual answers, this avatar shows a whole new facet – the art of sarcasm.
Until now active in the art and culture scene, vr4content is breaking new ground with this project and is using VR technology for research and university purposes for the first time. The presentation turned into an inspiring brainstorming session, in which our experts Prof. Dr. Brenne, Prof. Dr. Dormann, Prof. Dr. Klenk and Prof. Dr. Lacour also took part.
The vision is to give students the opportunity to practise difficult situations with patients in a humorous and instructive way. With this new technology, training in healthcare could soon be raised to a new level. It will be exciting to see how this innovative idea will shape the future of medical training.
