Campus Day 2025 at IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales in Berlin

Campus Day 2025

On Friday 18 July 2025, IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales opened its doors from 4 p.m. for Campus Day. Numerous prospective students used the chance to get a picture of study life on site, to come into conversation with students and lecturers – and to experience the special flair of the Health Campus at ukb.

IB Hochschule had prepared a varied and informative programme. After a warm welcome by Prof. Dr. Silke Brenne, Prof. Dr. Mariam Hartinger took the floor. In her talk she gave exciting insights into IB Hochschule's development and explained the advantages of the location on the Health Campus.

Afterwards, guests spread out to the individual programmes. In rooms specially prepared, lecturers and students presented the study offers – including Applied Psychology, Health Education, Applied Therapy Science and Digital Health. Here was space for individual questions and conversations – an ideal setting for everyone who wanted to find out about content, career prospects and study life.

A special highlight was the subsequent campus tour across the ukb grounds. It passed historic brick buildings – once part of a nerve hospital before the gates of Berlin – up to the highly modern emergency room of today's BG Klinikum. The future new home of the university, the currently still-renovated House 2, could also be inspected.

Visitors gained exciting insights into emergency care: what happens in the shock room? How does initial admission proceed? Which scenarios are planned for disasters? And how does the deployment of the rescue helicopter "Christoph Berlin" work? By chance, this set down for landing during the visit – luckily without intervention, but to much amazement.

The closing was an open-air talk titled "Research belongs to studies". Prof. Dr. Thomas Bürk and Alisa Wenzel showed by practical examples how research works at IB Hochschule, what methods are used – and why it is an integral part of studies.

Campus Day 2025 was a valuable day – with informative programme points, personal encounters and inspiring insights into studies at a very special place.
