Since June 1, 2025, HIU has been part of the Global Education Network Group. This step marks the end of a long and successful partnership with the Internationaler Bund. The university extends heartfelt thanks for this constructive collaboration and now looks ahead with great anticipation.
The transition marks the beginning of a new development phase: integration into a strong international education network opens up diverse opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.
HIU remains true to its academic focus and high quality standards. At the same time, the new ownership brings key advantages. Starting October 2025, two Master's programs will also be offered in English, specifically designed for international students: Digital Health and Health Care Education and Educational Management.
During the first joint working week with the new operators, important foundations were laid: interdisciplinary groups defined goals, exchanged ideas, and planned key projects. Special attention was given to the new campus location.
From September 2025, HIU will move into Building 2 on the Health Campus at ukb. The construction site was toured together with the new team – and even though building work continues, excitement for the new facilities is already palpable.
Despite structural changes, one thing remains unchanged: HIU continues to stand for engaged, practice-oriented, and future-focused education in health and social sciences. The path forward is clear: international, innovative, inspiring.
