Physiotherapy graduate obtains Postural Restoration Institute® (PRI) certification

Physiotherapy graduate PRI certification

The therapy concept of the Postural Restoration Institute® (PRI) is based on the recognition that the human body has anatomical and physiological asymmetry. The respiratory, circulatory, muscle, sensory and nervous systems are not structured identically on both halves of the body and serve different tasks, functions, positions and demands. Dominant use of one side of the body can develop from one-sided overuse of another system. PRI experts are supposed to recognise these imbalances and typical patterns and balance them with appropriate exercises.

Already in his Bachelor's thesis, Mr Nishimura dealt with the therapy method of the Postural Restoration Institute® (PRI). The goal of the thesis was to compare and evaluate the effectiveness of the therapeutic exercise "90 90 Hip Lift with Balloon" for lowering sympathetic activity with cardiorespiratory biofeedback. A total of 14 healthy adults were included in the pilot study.

Mr Nishimura can now use his findings from this scientific work and the expertise gained at the Postural Restoration Institute for his daily practice in physiotherapy.
