On 9 July 2025, IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales celebrates 18 years of existence – an occasion to look back on an eventful and successful journey.
Founded in 2007 as part of Internationaler Bund (IB), practice-oriented, future-oriented programmes – such as Communication Design or Health Sciences – have been at the centre from the beginning. A significant chapter began on Besselstraße in Berlin-Kreuzberg and was continued at Gerichtstraße 27 in Berlin-Wedding, where we spent many formative years together with the Medical Academy. Here the foundation was laid – for strong programmes in the health field, dedicated teaching teams and a lively university community. From the start, people have been at the centre.
With the move to Breitenbachstraße, a transition phase followed, which we used as an opportunity to realign ourselves organisationally and spatially. Today we are at the goal: on the modern Health Campus of ukb. With state-of-the-art equipment, interdisciplinary cooperation and a direct link to practice, we offer our students ideal conditions for their academic and personal development.
18 years of IB Hochschule – that means start, change and steady growth. We thank everyone who has walked this path with us – and look forward to many more years together. Congratulations, IB Hochschule!

18 years of IB Hochschule für Gesundheit und Soziales means 18 years of education for all. That means: studying without Abitur, without NC and open to everyone who convinces us with their personality and motivation. 18 years of IB Hochschule means about 1,500 graduates. The career paths of our alumni are impressive. 18 years of IB Hochschule currently means an absolute new start for us. Under the new operator, GEN Group, we will expand our portfolio and offer international programmes. For the work and commitment in the 18 years of IB Hochschule I thank the entire team, Internationaler Bund e.V., who supported us to adulthood, and all authorities and state institutions for the good cooperation since the founding on 09.07.2007.
