Apply for a place in just a few steps – we are happy to support you throughout your application process.

Step 2

Compile General Application Documents

For every degree programme you must submit the documents listed below. Special requirements apply if, for example, you obtained your university entrance qualification abroad.

For All Applicants

Proof of university entrance qualification (e.g. Abitur, vocational qualification, Fachhochschulreife)

If you studied at another university: most recent exmatriculation certificate

When applying for a master's programme as an external applicant:

Bachelor's degree certificate, Transcript of Records, module handbook of your degree programme

Special Requirements for International Applicants:

Translations into German or English are required for certificates obtained abroad (e.g. university entrance qualification, bachelor's degree, Transcript of Records)

For international applicants for master's programmes: the university where you completed your bachelor's degree must be recognised via the ANABIN database

For applications to German-language programmes: proof of German language proficiency at least at C1 level (e.g. TestDaF, DSH, Goethe Certificate C1, telc Deutsch C1, or Austrian Language Diploma C2)

For applications to English-language programmes: proof of English language proficiency at least at B2 level (e.g. IELTS min. Overall 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80)

Copy of passport

Letter of motivation

Explanatory letter for educational or employment gaps of 10 years or more

APS certificate (only for applicants from India, China and Vietnam)

Min. 50% of the total score in the final certificate of 10th and 12th grade
