About

As a research fellow of the German Research Foundation (HA 5318/1-1; HA 5318/2-1), Dr. Mariam Hartinger spent a year at the Speech Science Research Centre of Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland, after completing her doctorate as a graduate speech scientist.

A further post-doc project followed in functional brain research at the Department of Neurology at Cologne University Hospital. The experience from this interdisciplinary project, which brought together neurology, phonetics, and speech therapy, forms much of the basis for her teaching at IB Hochschule.

As a long-serving professor at IB Hochschule, Mariam Hartinger took over as head of the Speech Therapy programme in April 2018, and from April 2020 served as the professorial subject lead. From August 2019 to August 2021 she was Vice-President for Research. Since December 2021 she has been President of the Health Innovation University of Applied Sciences.
