About

Prof. Dr. Joanna Vogel studied Psychology at Freie Universität Berlin and at the University of California, Berkeley. She completed her degree in 2013 with a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology. She then began training as a psychological psychotherapist at the German Society for Behavioural Therapy, finishing in 2018. In the same year she also earned a Master of Advanced Studies in Psychotherapy from the University of Bern. Alongside her clinical work and training, Joanna Vogel completed her doctorate from 2014 to 2019 in Medical Neuroscience at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin on "Neurophysiology of face processing – Extending the functional significance of event-related potentials in lateralization, adaption and prediction processes". From 2014 to 2023 she worked as a research associate at Charité. She first worked on the research project "Evaluation of social therapy and the accommodation and treatment of preventive detainees in the State of Berlin", and from 2017 was a therapist and researcher at the Forensic-Therapeutic Outpatient Clinic. Since May 2023 she has been a university lecturer in Applied Psychology at the Health Innovation University of Applied Sciences. Alongside teaching and research, she runs her own psychotherapy practice.
