The Board of Trustees of HIU
The Board of Trustees of HIU was newly constituted on 26 November 2025. With the newly elected Chairman Dr. Roy Kühne — former Member of the German Bundestag (CDU), Director of Government Affairs at Bauerfeind, and a diplomat specializing in innovative medical technology — HIU has gained a highly experienced and strategically minded leader. He will guide the university's continued development with a clear vision and strong political and professional expertise. Dr. Kühne succeeds Dr. Bergmann-Pohl, who held the chairmanship with great dedication and commitment from the university's founding in 2007 through to 2025. Other prominent figures from politics, business, academia, and culture round out this body, contributing as dialogue partners and advisors on all socially relevant topics.
The Board of Trustees advises HIU on fundamental policy issues — particularly regarding its profile, its regional and national integration, and the transfer of research findings into practice. Its members see themselves as ambassadors for the university and advocates for its interests in the public sphere.
