Career Change into Psychology – Study Without a Traditional University Entrance Qualification

Quereinstieg in die Psychologie - studieren ohne Abitur

Your path into Psychology is possible even without a traditional university entrance qualification.

Interested in studying Psychology but don't have the standard qualifications? No problem! Thanks to career-change pathways, you can start a Psychology degree with relevant professional training. We'll show you the requirements, what credits can be transferred, and what exciting career prospects await after graduation.

A Psychology degree is right for you if you have a genuine interest in understanding people, strong empathy and communication skills, and analytical thinking. For professionals from healthcare, nursing, and social services, the career-change pathway offers an attractive opportunity to open up new career perspectives.

There are multiple access routes: through professional qualification with relevant training and work experience; through advanced vocational training such as certifications as a specialist or master craftsperson; through the second education pathway via evening school; with a university of applied sciences entrance qualification; or through our no-numerus-clausus admission process that values motivation and aptitude over grades.

Many students can have previous training and qualifications credited toward their Psychology degree. This is assessed individually.

With a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology, diverse career opportunities await in counseling, organizational psychology, health psychology, coaching, and more. Further specialization is possible through Master's programs or additional qualifications, including a one-year learning therapy certification.

If you want to understand and support people and are open to a new academic step, the career change into Psychology could be exactly right for you. Our student advisory service is happy to assist with all questions about admission, credit transfer, and career planning.
