Profile
About the Module
This module is also part of the preparatory programmeme (Propädeutikum) for the Master's degree in Health Education (M.A.). Developing professional competence is the overarching goal of vocational training in the health professions. Learners should be equipped to independently plan, carry out, and evaluate the tasks required in unfamiliar, profession-specific situations. Achieving this calls for more than subject knowledge alone — it also requires self-awareness, an understanding of one's own strengths, and the ability to take ownership of the learning process. Subject-specific didactics addresses a central question: which theoretical frameworks can be used to design and operationalise competence-oriented learning? At the heart of this module lies the development and evaluation of exemplary, profession-specific case studies that cut across multiple competence areas. The programmeme is equally relevant for experienced educators looking to refresh and expand their didactic expertise, and for practice instructors seeking the skills to design and critically reflect on teaching and learning processes informed by the latest research.
