About

After completing her Psychology degree in Braunschweig, Inga Liepelt-Scarfone earned her doctorate in Psychology at Humboldt University of Berlin. She then took on post-doc roles in Neurology at Tübingen University Hospital. Since 2009 she has been responsible for coordinating clinical trials at the German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Tübingen. Since 2013 she has taught at the University of Tübingen, where she holds the Venia Legendi in Psychology.

Her research focuses on the early detection of neurodegenerative disease in older age, particularly dementia in Parkinson's disease. A core focus is identifying markers that allow early detection of dementia and assessment of cognitive performance over the course of the illness. She develops and evaluates psychometric instruments for measuring everyday functioning.

Inga Liepelt-Scarfone has been a university lecturer in Applied Psychology at IB Hochschule since October 2020.
