The Health Innovation University of Applied Sciences is the new name of the IB University of Health and Social Sciences. The HIU is a private, state-recognized university based in Berlin with additional study centers in Hamburg, Munich, and Stuttgart. We are looking for you for our Berlin study center. The position is available immediately and is initially limited to 2 years, though we aim for permanent employment.
Responsibilities:
- •Representing the department in teaching (18 SWS for full-time) and research in English
- •Contributing to the development and teaching of the planned Bachelor's program
- •Advising international students in close collaboration with the International Office
- •Supervising students' theses and, where applicable, supervising internship phases
- •Advising prospective students and conducting informational and admissions interviews
- •Establishing and maintaining collaborations and networks
- •Actively shaping opportunities for collaboration with the institutions of the Health Campus at ukb (e.V.)
- •Participation in university committees
- •Research and publication activities and representing the university in the scientific community
- •Acquiring external funding and contributing to the university's research profile
- •Willingness to teach in related degree programs at the university
- •Willingness to travel to other study centers due to the university's decentralized structure
- •Upon assuming the role of program leader, you will be responsible for:
- oThe continuous academic and curricular development of the program in line with current developments, research, publications, and trends in academia, professional practice, and society
- oRepresenting the program within the academic community
- oSupporting program accreditation processes in cooperation with the university's "QM and Accreditations" unit
- oCoordinating academic and organizational aspects of the program
- oFor the role of program leader, business-level proficiency in both written and spoken German and English is required.
Your Profile:
You stand for excellent academic quality in teaching and research
- •Relevant university degree in physiotherapy, sports science, or kinesiology, or state-licensed physical therapist with a relevant university degree
- •A relevant doctoral degree for the advertised position
- •At least 5 years of professional experience (with complete documentation); of which at least 3 years must have been outside the university sector (see hiring requirements for a professorship pursuant to § 100(1) BerlHG)
- •Expertise and professional experience in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and private practices
- •Expertise in at least two of the following physiotherapy-related areas: musculoskeletal pathophysiology, orthopaedics, traumatology, sports medicine, or related clinical practice
- •Expertise in anatomy, physiology, and functional anatomy of the musculoskeletal system, as well as in biomechanics; expertise in the field of sports medicine and sports therapy, including exercise science and training management
- •In-depth knowledge of evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning, and the ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health)
- •Advanced training in relevant areas of physical therapy is desirable
- •Teaching aptitude demonstrated by proven teaching experience at a university, preferably in the training of physical therapists
- •peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations
- •Relevant experience in research projects and in securing external funding is desirable
- •Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration
- •Experience in the use of digital learning technologies in higher education is preferred
- •Very good English skills, demonstrated through teaching experience, academic work in English, international publications, or equivalent professional experience; alternatively, through a bachelor's degree in English
- •Teaching is conducted in English; if you do not have German language skills, an interest in gradually acquiring basic German language skills is welcome
- •Interest and enthusiasm for educating and supporting young people
